Much love to all the PAX that joined me at the Blender on Thursday morning and braved the sub-zero temps. Suprisingly, once we got moving, it wasn’t too bad and we made sure we stayed in motion all 45 minutes. We would likely still be doing BLIMPS if Glen Ross hasn’t let me know that it was 6:14. Apparently the cold did have the effect of making me completely lose track of time. Here are the highlights:
PAX: Glen Ross, Geppetto, Backdraft, Plumb Bob, Blueprint, Old Bay, Captain Insane-O, Basic Bro (DR – Grand Rapids), Max Cow, Zima, Sump Pump, Grinder (Q)
I made a few additional disclaimers before we got started because I wanted to make sure everyone stayed safe given the conditions. I wasn’t planning for snow and was surprised by how much was on the ground when I got to the site. Luckily, it didn’t effect the weinke.
Quick mosey around the school to the big lot for COP, then after a light warm-up, we ran down Leland to St. Matthews Ave, over to Elmwood, then back to the school. Along the way, we stopped at every lamppost for descending Copperhead Squats, beginning with 11 and working our way down to 1.
Once back at the school, we partnered up for the activity that took the rest of our morning: BLIMPS (50 Burpees, 100 Lunges, 150 Imperial Squat Walkers, 200 Merkins, 250 Plank Jacks, and 300 SSHs). While partner one worked on those sets, partner two ran across the lot and did 10 Bobby’s Hurley’s. I don’t think any of the groups finished, but we all pushed it hard to the end.
Being with this group of guys Wednesday morning absolutely made my week. I was terrified of leading in those conditions, but they made it easy. Thanks to all of you for making me a better man and accepting me despite my faults and transgressions.
