BB 6/14/19 – Wisteria @ Pleasantville – Cowboy Q

The one thing I love about Pleasantville is that it has SO many great options to deal out a beat down.  You can always keep the variety coming.

I figured that the PAX would be light this morning with the ruck event tonight and due to some very unfortunate and uncharacteristic red traffic lights that early in the morning, I was almost late for my own Q.  But to my surprise, when I rolled in at 5:28 am, there were 11 other HIMs awaiting the beat down.

PAX: Cowboy (Q), Wildflower, Crockpot, Jolly Rancher, Grinder, Scratch N Dent, Red Card, Fructose, Uncle Rico, My Pleasure, Face, Ashley

I gave the disclaimer and we were off on a mosey to the elementary school parking lot.  Once there, we did COP for 30 SSH, 12 Slow Grass Grabbers, Downward dog calf stretches, scorpion stretches, and finished with 3 BOYOs to get the blood pumping.  Then another quick mosey to the park circle.

Thang 1 – Route 66
We divided into 2 teams that ran in opposite directions on the path around the park circle.  Each PAX stopped at each lamp post to execute 5 Big Boys and 10 LBCs.  Once the teams converged on the other side, we had a quick mosey to the amphitheater and were on to Thang 2.

Thang 2
I pre-stashed a basket with an entire cadre of exercises randomly dropped in it on note cards.  The basket was somewhere between .1 and .2 miles away from the amphitheater.  The object was for the PAX to AMRAP an exercise while 1 HIM ran out to retrieve a new exercise.  Upon his return, the PAX then performed that exercise while a new HIM was chosen to run out and grab the next…and so on and so on…  With 90’s music blaring and an occasional 2 second break to skip through songs like “I Will Always Love You” by Whitney Houston, we did the following exercises in this fashion with almost every HIM making the run.  Each of these lasted around 2 – 3 minutes.

  • SSHs
  • Step Ups
  • Squats
  • Dips
  • Big Boys
  • Burpees
  • Incline Merkins
  • Plank
  • SSHs (again)
  • Lunges
  • Derkins

With about 4 minutes left, we cranked out some core exercises with “Baby Got Back” coming in on the song list with impeccable timing.

  • Pickle Pounders X 20
  • Flutter Kicks X 20

We circled up around the flag for some CoR, NoR, and announcements.  We then brought it in for intentions and a quick word.  I discussed Matt. 5:44 and the difficulty in loving your enemies (those that have done you wrong or think differently than you).  I made a personal commitment to the PAX that I would focus on these words and do better.  Quick prayer to the Sky-Q and we were out.
