09-27-19 – Backblast – The Chopper @ The Vet – GO TIGERS!!

I haven’t Q’d at The Vet in a while, but I am always reminded why I love it out there so much. A diverse group of HIM’s that like to bust each other’s balls…my kind of people! My morning started with picking up some strange dude in front of The Mutt at 5 am. I guess Tureen is a part of our neighborhood watch which I didn’t know we had, or he just wanders the neighborhood at all hours of the day and night. I decided to give him a ride before one of the neighbors called the cops on him for creeping around. We set out for The Vet discussing our plans for the big game tonight and hoping our Tigers can pull out a W. That is going to be a tough challenge. You never know stranger things have happened, like Kilo actually showing up for a workout at his home AO. I had a couple things I needed to set up at The Vet for the workout, so Tureen and I got that done and made it over to the seal in time to get started. In my pre-blast I designated it school spirit day at The Chopper but apparently Jelly Fish and I were the only ones who got the memo. That’s alright, we rocked out our St. X gear and looked really good doing it if I do say so myself!

Thang 1: X Stations – 4 Stations positioned in the shape of an X, break up into 4 groups for each station. Start in the middle with 20 Merkins. Then each group completes 2 rounds at each station moving back to the middle for 20 Merkins in between each round.

  • Station 1: Round 1: 20 Coupon Squats; Lunge walk back to middle for 20 Merkins. Round 2: Coupon Overhead Press; Lunge walk back to middle for 20 Merkins.
  • Station 2: Round 1: 20 Coupon Curls; Lunge walk back to middle for 20 Merkins. Round 2: 20 Coupon Skull Crushers; Lunge walk back to middle for 20 Merkins.
  • Station 3: Round 1: 20 Coupon Bench Press; Broad jump back to the middle for 20 Merkins. Round 2: 20 Walk Over Coupon Merkins; Broad jump back to the middle for 20 Merkins.
  • Station 4: Round 1: 20 Coupon V Ups; Broad jump back to the middle for 20 Merkins. Round 2: 20 Big Boys holding Coupon; Broad jump back to the middle for 20 Merkins.

COT: We had one FNG who is from New York, brought out by Deep Dish. He moved to Louisville 12 years ago and was held at gun point several times in the first two years he lived here…Stick Up seemed an appropriate name. I’ve lived here my entire life and haven’t had that kind of bad luck! Be careful when you’re hanging around this guy! Just kidding, welcome Stick Up! We had to rename Luigi who apparently had too cool of a name. Short Hose and I lobbied for Princess Peach but were overruled by the Pax, so please re-welcome Yoshi!

Announcements were made about the upcoming Ruck in October. Hit Bushhhh or Zartan up on Slack. You can still sign up, but the T-shirt order date may have passed. Intentions went up for Meatball’s mom and Jelly Fish’s grandmother for some possible health issues, keep the entire Meatball clan in your prayers.
