BB The Big Kapowski @ Bayside 07.09.2020

When all else fails, the age old advice to “keep it simple stupid” remains relevant. The intent behind today’s WO was to keep it simple and focus on the heart.

At 72 degrees and 97% humidity, the PAX was sure to sweat today.

We moseyed to the front of the school for a little stretching.

  • 20 SSH IC
  • 10 Grass Grabbers
  • Toe Touch
  • Downward dog and runners stretches
  • Kendra Newmans and Michael Phelps
  • Arms across the chest
  • Neck Stretch

Next, we headed to the asphalt football field for some fun. Firing Pin was asked to pick a number between 5 and 10, 7 was the count and so it will be the rep count.
Thang 1:
– All out 10 yards. 7 SSH, 7 Sumo Squats, 7 T-Merkins, 7 V-Ups
– All out 10 more yards. 7 SSH, 7 Sumo Squats, 7 T-Merkins, 7 V-Ups
– Keep going until all finished, start working your way back if your leading the pack.

Thang 2:
– All out 10 yards. 10 Overhead Claps, 10 Calf Raises, 10 Groiners, 10 LBC’s
– All out 10 more yards. 10 Overhead Claps, 10 Calf Raises, 10 Groiners, 10 LBC’s
– Keep going until all finished, start working your way back if your leading the pack.

Everyone made it back to the starting line as we called time. I know Charolais hates burpees, not sure how he felt about doing them in a deconstructed manner!

We caught our breath and circled up around the flag.

Count-o-rama, name-o-rama, announcements (local ruck this weekend and upcoming convergence) and intentions (family of friend that passed away from covid).

Today’s WO was intentionally simple and focused on cardio. I explained to the PAX that all of the troubles in the world today make things feel so complicated. However, so often the answer is simple. Scripture tells us that only love can conquer the anger, hatred and discontent in the world. I encouraged the group to take time to focus on the simple solution, Christ’s example, and demonstrate kindness and compassion in this divided world. Love one another. If only we could all truly grasp what that means.

See ya,

Squid
