Every non-profit organization has been challenged with key fundraising events being cancelled, postponed, re-purposed or re-imagined in light of COVID-19 [which, by the way, sucks]. Unfortunately, the WHAS Crusade for Children is no different with the delay of their annual telethon happening this weekend, August 8th and 9th.
As a member of a local fire department for over 20-years, I’ve spent a lot of time pounding the pavement on road blocks and door-to-door collections in support of their cause around their annual telethon. Not only that, three of my children have been hospitalized at various times and I’m 100% certain at some point the hospital staff used equipment that they were able to obtain courtesy of the WHAS Crusade for Children’s mission.
So, come on out to The Inferno tomorrow and join me for a little education about the impact that this organization has had on our local children in need. In order of priority, please bring:
- Checkbook [I’ll provide the ink pen]
- Cash or coins [help resolve the national coin shortage]
- Gloves, for ground and coupon work
Jolly Rancher out!
