It was a balmy 45 degrees this morning and we were able to get 20 men out in the gloom. We got started right on time after a quick disclosure. Although it’s hard to believe, I am in fact not a professional. The men were reminded that they are not mindless automatons and are working out with their volition, and wits. We are all out to get better, not get hurt so modifications are always strongly encouraged.

From there we moseyed with the weight of our coupons on our shoulders to a 45 minute workout that would be include fireballs from the heavens and non-stop, grueling agony.

COP:

  • Nuclears starting from ten and working our way down to 1
    • During the nuclears a light shown upon the PAX that could only be described as divine. There was no sound, just a flash in the sky that caused the Q to lose concentration of the count and almost lose control of the group.
    • If it weren’t for the men surrounding me we would have been lost in the doldrums of never-ending nuclears
      • Translation: there was a really cool shooting star that burst near where we were.
  • Mountain Climbers – 25 In cadence

Thang: Tabada

I was inspired by the men from the “O” during our workout at The County’s Nest last Saturday when they ran during the rest periods of the tabada. When I proclaimed my inspiration to the PAX this morning, I was told that it was in fact The Garden boys that started the trend.

  • Ronald Regan had a plaque on his desk that read:
    • “There is no limit to the amount of good you can do if you don’t care who gets the credit.”
  • In that spirit – I profusely thank the men from the O for introducing us all to the running rests. . .

The Tabada had four exercises with running rests. 8 sets of each exercise, 25 seconds on, 15 seconds of the secondary WO:

  • Manmakers with sprints
  • Curls with sprints
  • Skull Crusher V-Ups with mountain-climbers during the rest
  • Overhead press with merkins during the rest

With tired arms we mosey back to the American seal for Mary:

  • 60 flutter kicks in cadence
    • during which time my cell phone disappeared, then magically appeared
  • 25 mountain climbers in cadence
  • 40 flutter kicks in cadence
  • Then we closed out the WO by hitting our back-abs with some Superman Swimmers
    • 20 in cadence

During the COT the intentions were lifted up for the PAX whose loved ones are affected by Covid. Also, there was a reminder that there is 0% chance that everyone around that circle voted the same way in this election. The men of F3 are stronger together, regardless of our politics. We are leaders, and there are people starving for leadership in our community. We are a light in a dark world and must remain cognizant of the responsibility we have been given as leaders. Like a rope, we are stronger when we weave our talents and minds together; if we are alone, our strength, skills, voices and influence will break.

The PAX heard the words of Teddy Roosevelt because it was my first Q at the Tank, and hopefully will remember that there is tremendous responsibility to be in the arena. The positive impact we can have on the world cannot be exagerrated. I am blessed to have led these incredible men this morning.

Giddy up.
