My youngest was up to some mischief this weekend, apparently. She apparently decided to make a mess out of all of my workout gear in the laundry room yesterday. This made finding a clean matching pair of gloves a bit more difficult this morning. So, needless to say some speed limits may have been broken and some stops were more like rolling stops on the way to Posh this morning.
Good news is I arrived with about five minutes to spare – this way Stick Up didn’t sweat the possibility of having to step up and Q, again. I was pleased with the numbers as I rolled into the parking lot – it’s always a bit of a crap shoot though on what cars are the PAX and what cars are the women’s group.
As time was drawing near, Captain Crunchberry told me that Lucky Charms was going to make it out, but we didn’t see him in the circle yet. So, a quick count of the PAX [which we counted to 16] a little capri-lap around the parking lot over to the egg lawn in the closest parking lot area so that he could see us as he came in.
- Cousin Eddie
- Bob Ross
- Pickle Ball
- Lady Bird (R) + Emma
- Jitterbug (R)
- Captain Crunchberry
- Lucky Charms
- Stick Up
- Iceman (R)
- Jolly Rancher (Q)
When we got to the parking lot, we did some COP.
- 25x – SSH
- Downward Dog + Runners Stretches
- 10x – Grass Grabbers
- 10x – Copperhead Squats
- Kendra Newmans – forward and backwards
- 25x – SSH
Damn, still no Lucky Charms. Oh well – maybe he got confused and is working out with the women. More power to him.
Thang 1 – Merkin Waterfall
We split the group up into 2 separate teams of 8. I then instructed each group to do a merkin waterfall – one PAX starts with 10 merkins, and when they get to 3, the next PAX goes. So on and so forth until it gets back to the first PAX who then only does 9 merkins…rinse and repeat all the way to 1 merkin.
Still no Lucky Charms. We then set out for another short mosey around the egg lawn to the next parking lot.
Thang 2 – Jump Squat Waterfall
Same as above, except jump squats. Lucky Charms clearly fartsacked.
Then we pushed forward with the mosey to underneath of the bridge towards North Posh.
Thang 3 – 11s, Three Man Weave, or Whatever
This wasn’t my best work.
Perhaps I pushed the run too hard and my head wasn’t on straight. I originally called that we’d split up again, but into partner work – without touching or doing anything…just as a means to separate. I called it 11s…but then I saw Lucky Charms, who had apparently been with us from the very beginning. I hate winter time – I can’t recognize anyone…too cold, too dark and too many layers. I then also realized that 11s wouldn’t work…not only did we have an odd number at this point [again, I thought Lucky Charms was 17, but he was actually 16]. So, I called an audible and said instead to get into teams of 3…damnit man…this won’t work either. So, I basically crumbled under the pressure and just said get into teams of 3 and I know it won’t be perfect, but you’ll figure it out.
So, we had 1 PAX run to the top of the bridge towards North Posh. They would do SSH when they got there. No, instead let’s do Groiners. Yeah, that’ll work. And the push PAX set out about a minute behind while PAX 3 stayed under the bridge for some plank jacks.
This Thang was a bit of a mess – apologies to the PAX for that. We did this for a few rounds and then head out back towards the flags…but, I still had a little more time.
Thang 4 – Merkin Waterfall x2
We turned right around the egg lawn to complete the circle and I realized we had a little more time to do another waterfall. But, we only made it down to 5 or 6 reps because I realized I started my workout late so I was short 5 minutes. Oops. Again, not my best work.
So, I called time and advised the PAX that we’d strut by the ladies – so, put on their proud peacock faces and muster up whatever you’ve got to show them what you’re made of.
Countarama, namearama, announcements and intentions.
Announcements included Co-Q Mash-up Week beginning December 7 through 12. Get on the calendar now – I still don’t see a Bunghole / Brown Water Co-Q scheduled…disappointment doesn’t describe the feelings. Lots of PAX have upcoming Qs – support these HIM.
Intentions included Double Down’s sister and mother as well as a neighbor of Jitterbug’s who lost their house, belongings and memories due to a fire recently.
I forgot how dark it is at Posh – particularly over at the Bridge going south from the egg lawn. That is where I had planned to work, but it was way too dark and the numbers we had wouldn’t permit social distancing. The “omaha” was called as an audible and I clearly fumbled through the weinke after that. Hopefully the PAX got the workout they expected. I’ll do better next time!
Always a pleasure to lead the men of Posh.
Jolly Rancher out!
