8 PAX decided to come see what bombs Santa had in his sleigh.
At 0530 we gathered up and I gave the disclaimer, all in attendance respond “Aye!” We took a mosey around the parking lot and ended up in front of the school. I think we did SSH, grass grabbers, toy soldiers, hillbilly walkers and downward dog with some runner stretches. Who knows though, nobody pays attention to COP. After we were stretched out and warmed up, it was time to check out Santa’s surprise. With the temperature dropping, we decided to take a reprise from the wind and rain where the list of exercises awaited.
Smurf Jacks x 50
Alternating Shoulder Taps x 50 IC
Nutcrackers x 50 IC (Lunge with a clap under the leg, usually done with bricks)
Twinkle Toes x 100 (Al Gore with calf raises)
American Hammers x 100 IC
Burpees x 50
Overhead Claps x 100
Merkins, Hand Release x 50
Big Boy Situps x 100
Sumo Squats x 50
We turned the music on and got to work. This was UvU and each man appeared to be up to the task. Grandpa Bear’s intermittent self-motivational outburst were enough to push all of us. Slugger is a beast, but found that hand release merkins don’t let you cut any corners. Pickleball finished early and he filled that time running laps, throwing in a few extra merkins and motivating the remaining PAX. I am not sure, but he may have even thrown in a coffee break with his abundance of free time while we all tried not to die. Charolais and Shuttlecock continue to be the standard setters, they are who I want to be when I grow up. Firing Pin quietly pushes through each workout and is always up to a little extra challenge, you can see a lot of his dad in him. Birdie scoffed at the challenge and knocked it out with barely a bead of sweat, he concluded with just enough time to catch a lap and a ten count before we headed to the flag.
We moseyed to the flag for COR, NOR, announcements (blood drive and iron horse), and intentions.
Merry Christmas men!
Until Next Time,
