BB – The Ruiner @ The O – 5/29/21

The clock struck 7:00 am, disclaimer was given, and off we headed to the field of dreams, or should I saw nightmares. We circled up for some quick stretching, as we had a lot of work to accomplish before this WO was to be considered done. We started with SSH, Grass Grabbers, Imperial Walkers & a runners stretch. This PAX had no idea what was in store for them on this brisk Saturday morning.

PAX: Violet, Vincent (R), No Nuts, Oatmeal (DR), Motorboat, Russdiculous, Handbook, Flo Jo, Tammy Faye Baker & Harry Caray (Q).

Thang 1: A.L.A.R.M.S.

A as in arms, we did 4-count shoulder presses x 10;

L as in legs, we did 2-count lunges x 10;

A as in abs, we did single count LBC’s;

R as in run, we ran to the other side of the field;

M as in merkins, we did merkins x 10;

S as in squats, we did squats x 10, ran back to beginning position.

Pax completed this thang x 3.

Thang 2: B.O.M.B.S., we partnered up for some dora style BOMBS

B as in burpees x 50;

O as in overhead presses x 100;

M as in merkins x 150;

B as in BBSU x 200;

S as in squats x 250.

Thang 3: The Wheel of Misfortune

PAX circled up and started with Global Warming, holding an Al Gore while all PAX in unison stepped to their right. After several steps, Q hollered out an exercise, first was merkins x 10. Resumed the Al Gore and stepping right, Q announced burpees x 5. Once again, resumed Al Gore and stepping right, Q then announced Bobby Hurleys x 20.

Remaining in the Wheel of Misfortune, we moved on to Johnnie Roscoe’s. PAX chopped their feet, Q hollered down, the PAX hit the ground and rolled to their right one time, and back to their feet and resumed chopping their feet. This continued for several minutes until the Q was sure everyone had absorbed enough of the morning dew from the grass below our feet.

We then began what is known as the Iron Hulk, which is a Jack Webb 1:4 of merkins & air presses. Just to ensure all PAX members were guaranteed a chest/shoulder meltdown of epic proportions.

Remaining in the Wheel, we moved on to the Joe Louis, which is a 4-count exercise of 2 punches and a squat down-and-up. We did the Joe Louis x 20.

We had about 7 minutes left at this point, which we used to finish things off with a little Mary that PAX took turns leading the group in their favorite core exercises.

COT: COR, NOR, announcements, which consisted of Handbook passing the torch of site Q of The Ruiner to yours truly. It is truly and honor and a privilege to continue the responsibility of leading the finest WO at the finest AO in f3 Louisville. It made the moment even more special with Handbook’s predecessor, Vincent (R), in attendance. After assuring everyone that nothing at The Ruiner would change, except the HIM planting the flag was so much better looking, a fact which everyone seemed to be in total agreement. At least, that’s how I recall the events as they occurred. Intentions went unspoken, and we concluded with the Pledge of Allegiance in honor of Memorial Day.
