About 3-months ago, I was randomly staring at the original County AO flag and I realized it was planted on June 8, 2018. So, inevitably a celebration was in order for June 8, 2021. And, when I looked at the calendar that far out, naturally it was still open so I scooped it up from Hushpuppy.
The County has certainly benefitted from some great growth after originally starfishing away from Poshlands. And, Boondocks was a starfish from The County. Starfishing enables growth so we can reach more men.
As I arrived around 5:25am, the PAX were still crawling out of the woodworks. At 5:29am, there were still a few cars making their way into the parking lot. And, at 5:30am as I gave the disclaimer, Gilligan was still trying to get out of the truck to join us before we mosey’d by him.

We mosey’d up to the front parking lot and did a quick count off – 32 PAX! It was great to see the numbers high on such a momentous occasion. But damn. I really wish there would have been 33 PAX because it would have made my two Thangs a bit easier to manage. If you’re readying this, were you the missing PAX?

We then finished the loop back to the back parking lot.
Thang 1 – Catch Us If You Can:
We got into groups of 3. So, there was one group with only 2 – which is where that one PAX that fartsacked would have made my life a little bit easier. No worries – adapt and overcome and that we did.
PAX 1 started broad jumping around the parking lot while PAX 2 did 10x merkins and PAX 3 did 10x squats. Once PAX 2 and 3 were done, they’d mosey up to relieve PAX 1 broad jumping. Then, rotate. So, PAX 1 did merkins, PAX 2 did squats, and PAX 3 did broad jumps.
We rinsed and repeated all the way around the far islands to make the large loop around.
Thang 2 – Three Man Weave:
I think split up the PAX with PAX 1 and 2 on one side of the parking lot and PAX 3 on the other side. Goal here is PAX 1 started with merkins and PAX 2 mosey’d towards PAX 3 where PAX 3 was working on 200 squats. Once the merkins were done it was 300 air presses. And then after that another 100 merkins. Squats remained the same.
This thang wasn’t executed perfectly, unfortunately. But, I think it worked well enough that the PAX seemed to enjoy it enough. And, it was great mumblechatter to encourage each other as we passed which is what it is all about.
Thang 3 – Honor the Site Qs:
I then asked all of the prior County Site Qs to move to the middle of the circle while the rest of the PAX made a larger circle around them. The group was pretty large – 14 PAX strong – much larger than expected, but it was great to see them all there [names above bolded represented those prior Site Qs; hopefully I got everybody captured above].
Each of the prior Site Qs led in a Mary exercise. Some staples were brought back, including Alexa’s Pickle Pointers and Fungi’s Nolan Ryan’s. Quite the controversy when Gisele took Heart Breakers before Pelican could call them. Good times.
Thang 4 – Family Trees:
To show the impact of starfishing and headlocking PAX, I asked the PAX to line up behind the person that headlocked you. Abacus and Airplane certainly had a pretty large contingent of PAX, which is no surprise given they are some of the OGs of The County. The objective here, just in case Dauber is reading this since he was talking [again] as I was trying to introduce this to the PAX, was to show the impact of the efforts to grow this thing what we call F3.
Not sure if anyone else appreciated it, but I thought it was kind of fun to see the different PAX and branches of trees that we’ve created.
We then had a little extra time so another mosey around the back parking lot before time was called.
Countarama, namearama, announcements and intentions.
It was a great day at the County. Thankful that I’m a small part in what goes on and what we’re able to do on days like today.
Here’s to hoping we pave the next 43 feet in front of us as well as those leaders who came before us!
Jolly Rancher out!
