Back-Blast Monday 10-18-2021 – The Motivator @ The Abyss

This morning was “peak Abyss”.  It was just me and a group of the Abyss regulars – Uncle Sam (R), Flip Flop, Kitty Litter, Mr Hat, Dauber (Q).  It was early, it was dark, it was the coldest morning temp since the spring, and as usual the PAX kicked butt (i.e. “peak Abyss”).
After the disclaimer and a quick thank you to Flip Flop for volun-telling me to Q, we set out on a mosey down to the boat ramp.  On the way back up from the boat ramp, the nearly full moon was just over the trees and there was a pretty think fog…it was bad a$$.  We finished the mosey back at the basketball court and circled up for COP – SSH, Grass Grabbers, Kendra Newmans / Michael Phelps, Downward Dog, Mountain climbers.  We stayed at the basketball court for the main thang which I modified from a dora concept to just a UvU beatdown since we had an odd number.  The workout was a repeat of exercise sets with intermittent run down to the boat ramp and back.
Set Repeats:  10 Burpees, 20 4ct American Hammers, 10 Merkins, 20 4ct Flutter Kicks. After completing 3 sets, run to boat ramp…return, rinse & repeat.

On my second run back from the boat ramp, I noticed the moon was already below the tree line…the Abyss had literally swallowed the moon.  There is just no room for any light there.
Not a ton of mumblechatter as the sets were a grind, but some encouragement pulled us through.  Everyone got through 3 groups of sets (I think we agreed that was the right term) and were at various places on the 4th when we hit time.  We circled up for COT (CoR, NoR, Announcements, Intentions, Prayer)…great start to the week.
