Backblast, “Currahee Ruck” Nolin Black-Ops May 27, 2018.

Weather: Perfect! 81 Degrees, sunny with light cool breeze.

QIC: Flounder

Pax: Flounder, Gypsy, Pew Pew, Meter Maid.

4 HIMs assembled to tame Currahee, 2 miles up and 2 miles back(+a little extra credit). Hi Ho Silver! Pew Pew unable to ruck due to injury, modified by marching in sandals. Meter Maids first ruck! Departure 7:00am, disclaimer made. Started on the dock because, why not, only 65 stairs to the top for warmup. Toward Dog Creek Campground we go. Just past the bridge, nice views of water to left and right, with Currahee straight ahead. Pax like the look of the steep grade we are about to encounter.

Forgot the first turn after finally reaching the top leads straight down hill for a while. Gonna have to climb back up on the way out, oh well.

Finally on the way back! This was a little harder than I expected. Since we were moving faster than anticipated, we took a tour of The Campground for a little extra credit. Arrived back to the dock 8:27, 5.48 miles behind us.

Prayers for Weedwacker and Abacus families.

Flounder out.
