When CI asked for a volunteer to Q the Carp, I have to admit that I was a little apprehensive. I hadn’t Q’d in a while but more importantly, I knew that the WO on 9/11/18 would be, and should be, one of significance. Regardless, I stepped up and took the reigns and couldn’t be happier that I did. Although I had some FOMO for missing three other great WO’s, I was proud that I could be a part of F3 on a day like today.
As usual before a Q, I couldn’t sleep for crap last night. After coming downstairs at 4:45am and making my usual pre-workout shake I was jolted back to reality by what sounded like a heard of cats being murdered on my front porch….just another morning in Northfield. I took that as a sign that I should get going…or be potentially clawed to death.
I rolled up to Joe Creason and to my delight, Lung Dart was 4 heaters deep into his morning ritual. I opened the hatch of my truck and Johnny Ringo leapt out, ready for the impending fun. Easy big fella! One by one the Pax rolled up, or in the case of Scuba Steve and Flo Jo, sprinted into the parking lot.

COR, NOR, announcements (Sept. ruck this Saturday). We brought it in and I gave thanks to the Pax, those lost on 9/11/01, and the great country that we live in. I recalled back when my dad used to tell me that he’d always remember where he was when JFK was shot….17 years after 9/11 I know exactly what he means. Thanks to the 5 HIMs that joined me in the gloom this morning; Q’ing today was a great decision and I’m proud to have had the chance to lead. Now let’s go out and kill it today.
