Q:  Captain Insane-o

Pax (12):  Carlton, Dunphy, Abacus, Fergie, Valdez, Catfish, Stormtrooper, Banana Hands (R), Pork Chop, Vincent (R), Grinder, CI.  (YHC excluded, this was one badass group of badasses).

Conditions:  30*, 78% humidity.  Clear.  Waxing Gibbous Moon.

Gearlander:  Florida Buff, tioght Nike thermal shirt, black swim trunks, Hoka One One Arahi 3s, Feetures Socks, gloves.  100# sandbag, 60# sandbag, 2 30# kettlebells, 2 45# dumbbells, 120# barbell.

I may need to get my shocks replaced.  I loaded up my rig last night with all the stuff above (except the clothes, because I had to wear something), and it was leaning a bit.  I also left it outside, so all the steel was super cold when I got to North Posh.  Figured that wouldn’t last long though.

With the successful Mockstar happening over the weekend, plus a ton of options, I was really happy to see 11 beasts join me at the North Posh for a heavy, heavy heavy.  Catfish looked a little stiff, but nothing can keep that guy down (I would have fartsacked for sure).  Abacus did a mere 16 miles on Saturday, so he was hankering for more.  Grinder mentioned how he went heavy at his dad’s gym yesterday, but I know he read my preblast.

I gave a disclaimer and told the guys that this would be a workout that they could hide in or get out of it what they wanted.  They’d soon learn what that meant.

First, though, a quick mosey to the overlook so we could admire the moon, which sat large right above our spot.

Mosey back to the meet up, where all the metal was sitting, getting even colder.  The gist of the set was this:  Partner up.  6 stay and do stuff with the weight.  The other 6 run out and back to the pond, which is a full half mile with a solid gradual hill.  I had written down some suggested exercises on some cardboard, and implored the Pax not to try stuff they weren’t comfortable with.  And also if they didn’t want to use weight, just go bodyweight with merkins, squats, etc.  The key was to push yourself on both the weights and the run.  And I think we did.

After doing this for a while, I called it for a set of Irkins, Derkins and Dips, and then we did some Mary, which included:
Flutterkicks 20X
DaVincents 20X
Gas Pumps 20X
A Steinl (because why not)
Fifer Scissors until Fin.

COR, NOR, COT.   Abacus announced a CSAUP upcoming which consists of a crap-ton of trail running.  Find out more in Slack or through Abacus.  Intentions for many.  I closed us out after picking up on theme of mental health, which is top of mind for us all, asking that we commit to reach out to someone today who we haven’t seen at F3 in a while.  Invite them back for 1st, 2nd or 3rd F activities.  I encouraged everyone to be the best person they can be today, and with that everyone promised to swing by later to help me get everything back into my basement.
