A Thirst Trap from VETS 2.7.2020 BackBlast

We lost the bet to Naperville & we paid the price…

My entire idea for this WO was to do a complete mash-up of several types of WOs (a few of which I’ve never used in a WO) to make one complete WO to last for 30-40 minutes. My personal perceived genius will likely be overshadowed by this picture above given it’s already gotten 24 responses on Slack, but I’m okay with that because as they say, “There’s no such thing as bad publicity.” Here’s what went down:

At 0530 I gave the disclaimer letting the PAX in attendance know I am not a professional, I’ve received no training, & everything I say to do is a suggestion so please listen to your body, listen to your brain…if there’s something you don’t feel comfortable doing, especially considering the weather then PLEASE modify.

There was no mosey to get loose, we went ahead & got straight into CoP.

I then asked the PAX to count off into groups of three, which incredible turned into a $#!+ show with a demonstration of the inability to count 1, 2, 3 & the inability to get into groups of three. Eventually we got it figured out & I led the PAX on a brief mosey to the backside of the monument to explain THE THANG.

The PAX who were a “1” in the count off started at Station 1, the PAX who were a “2” started at Station 2, & the PAX who were a “3” started at Station 3. These were the three stations:

The rotation through each station was driven by the completion of Station 2 which lasted 12 minutes. Following the time ending at Station 2 the PAX had one minute to rotate to the next station. Given the conditions some PAX didn’t feel comfortable going up & down this hill:

So…we found a way for them to modify this station. Other PAX like Dynomite! & PK thoroughly enjoyed this station as they modified by sliding down the hill, Tclaps boys! With three groups rotating through the stations at 12 minutes each & 1 minute between groups for rotation this took up 38 minutes of the WO. At 0614 the last group finished Station 2 & we headed back to the flag for CoT.

  • CoR
  • NoR
    • Each PAX gave their birth name, age, & claimed “Noonan” to honor our brother from Naperville who unexpectedly passed away last week.
  • Announcements:
    • The February Ruck Event (Poker Ruck) presented by Methane & Star Child is next Saturday 2.15.2020.
  • Intentions:
    • TaPs for Noonan & his family
    • TaPs for Flounder’s daughter
    • Tony Malito & his family.

Shout out to Whitney because if it weren’t for him I don’t think I would’ve ever heard, “That’s a lovely fedora” ITG. My man rocked that thing throughout the entire WO.

Shout out to Jitterbug & his Valentine’s Day plans that consist of, but aren’t limited to, “A glass of bourbon, watchin’ some Live PD, & possibly massaging myself.”

After wrapping up CoT the 10 PAX pictured above stripped off their top layers & applied the paint to pay out debt to F3Naperville for the bet we lost a few weeks ago. It’d been a week since I was able to post & I missed it…because of WOs out like this.

Nino out.
