Thank Stick-up for picking up the Q when I completely disappeared for month, and skipped a Q that I forgot I had. To make it up for that, I made sure to be there this time. Weather was scheduled to be a severe thunderstorm. Fit for Moms were getting ready for a turf war. Didn’t matter, I was going to be there, if it was only going to be Stick-up and myself, I had three workouts planned to accommodate anything.
Fortune smiled on us this morning. The raid held off during the entire workout. Fit for Mom was too scared, and conceded the prime workout areas, at least for today. We had 10 PAX, including 1 FNG. It had been a while since I had been to an Incubator workout and it was great seeing all the new faces and some familiar ones.
PAX: Dry Rub, Bob Ross, Jewel, Double Down (R), SBD (FNG), Jumpseat, Greenwich, Ladybird (R), Stick-up, PK (Q).
Here is what we did. Warm up with a mosey around the parking lot, performing a lap and stopping at the lower end of the parking lot. Performed High Knees, Butt Kicks, Marios, Carioca (left and right) with Moseys in between along the way. Once we got to the end, we circled up for warm up stretches. SSHs (30), Imperial Walker Squats (10), Downward Dog, Right over Left Downward Dog Calf Stretch, Runners Stretch, then reach for the sky.
Everyone nice and limbered up, we were split into two groups. Group 1 performed Balls to the Wall (as many as possible inverted merkins, or just hold position) for 2 minutes, while Group 2 performed Squats for 2 minutes then switched for another 2 minutes. At the end of the round, everyone took a mosey around the parking lot twice. Round 2 involved Group 1 performing wall sits for 2 minutes, while Group 2 performed Dips for 2 minutes, then switched for another 2 minutes. Then another 2 laps around the parking log. Round 3 involved Group 1 performing 2 minutes of shoulder taps, while Group 2 performed Step-ups, then switch for another 2 minutes. Then another 2 laps around the parking log, finishing at the flag.
Back at the flag, tossed it around the circle for a pick your poison. Merkins, Boyos, Freddie Mercuries, DaVincis, Flutter Kicks, T-Merkins, Gas Pumps, finished with an Absolution. I know I am forgetting one
We got to name an FNG, which is always fun, as when you are the Q you get the final say. So sorry to SBD, truly an awesome guy. Jumpseat said we should name him something to do with Stealth, due to his flight history in the service. So, he is stealthy, quiet, and deadly. Kind of an awesome name if you think about it. Welcome!
Thanks again to the PAX for making the morning start off well for me. I got stuck in my head this weekend and it was good to get out of it in the gloom. Let me know when the playground is open, and I will reinstitute the funhouse. PK
