BB – Cloverfield at The Garden for Jimmy Neutron’s VQ

I must say I am loving the fall weather. It’s nice not to start sweating the minute I get out of the car in the gloom. As we gathered I relayed the story of how Minnow, Latex, and myself got stopped on Wednesday morning by the neighborhood Karen as we were rucking in the street. Stories were shared until go time.

In all 17 Pax were present and completed the workout:

We then carried our coupons over to the bottom of the backside hill. I explained to the group that our goal was to get subatomic. Sub is a prefix for below or beneath so we focused on making sure our exercises went extra deep to feel the burn. I explained that since I am named Jimmy Neutron that we would be doing 20 reps at the base of the hill for each section of our workout. I asked if anyone knew what element #20 on the periodic table was, which Jewel quickly pointed out that of course nobody knew. I informed group that it is Calcium and we are wanting to use 20 reps to build a strong base for ourselves and our workout. We counted off in groups of 3 for social distancing purposes. Explained station work (3 stations with rotations between sets)

Station 1: 20 Sumo Squats w/coupon, 20 Cross-coupon merkins, 20 LBCs, coupon carry up the first set of step to do 5 Manmakers, coupon carry back

Station 2: 20 Coupon Skull Crushers, 20 Coupon American Hammers, 20 Elf on the Top Shelfs, Sprint uphill to the speed bump, 10 BoyOs, run back

Station 3: 20 Thrusters, 20 Break Dancers, 20 Curls, Sprint the the end of the parking lot, 15 lunges each leg, run back

After completing each station the first time we decreased reps (5-4-3-2-1 for Station 1, 10-8-6-4-2 for Station 2, 15-12-9-6-3 for Station 3). No person finished the countdown so we stopped on time and carried our coupons back.

COR, NOR, Closing Remarks – I pointed out that if completed, PAX would have done 100 of each exercise. Even though our goal should be to give 100% we don’t always achieve it, but it still feels a lot better if we push ourselves and get better.

Notes: Husky informed us that the port-o-john the construction crew uses is very nice. The top shelf elf exercise convinced at least 2 people to reconsider their holiday traditions. Very random music was played way too loudly. Overall great work. I feel blessed to have the opportunity for so many to trust me to lead and look forward to improving the workout, and playlist, in the future!
