Pleasantville is probably my favorite place to post. It has a little bit of everything you could want – and then some. I just wish it was a little closer to home! But, when Holy Roller was in need of a Q the day after Thanksgiving, I knew it would be a great excuse to get me up and get busy – because I knew I would need the motivation.
- Captain Crunchberry
- Holy Roller (R)
- Discount Doublecheck (FNG)
- Jolly Rancher (Q)
I gave the disclaimer when time was called and we set out for a mosey around the circle to the school parking lot.
- Grass Grabbers
- Downward Dog + Runners Stretches
- Maybe something else, I can never remember COP anymore…
We then went straight into our first thang.
Thang 1 – 11s:
We started at one end of the parking lot and went to the middle of the parking lot where the flower pots are. I introduced 11s to our FNG and then we got busy. We did squats on one side and groiners (single count) on the other side. Early finishers were rewarded with dips on the steps next to the playground.
Thang 2 – 11s:
This time, we cut the parking lot up the other direction…we started on the bottom of the stairs next to the playground and did merkins, then box jumped up the three or four steps, then mosey’d to the school where we did big boy situps. Early finishers were rewarded with LBCs.
Thang 3 – Route 66:
We then mosey’d over to the loop and I introduced Route 66. The goal was to start at the first light with 1 rep of jump lunges [both legs required to count for 1 rep]. And then mosey to the second light to do 2 4-count jump lunges…rinse and repeat adding 1 set each light post. There’s 11 light posts in total. Early finishers were rewarded with LBCs.
Thang 4 – Paula Abdul:
Yep, you got it – 2 steps forward and 1 step back. So we started at one light pole and did 5 merkins, then ran up 2 light poles and did 5 of something else that I can’t remember. Then back 1 light pole for 5 more merkins…rinse and repeat around to the other side of the circle next to the flag. But, we had to call this one short due to time.
Back at the flag we had just enough time for some flutter kicks – and then time was called.
Countarama, namearama, named our FNG, announcements and prayer requests. We named our FNG Discount Doublecheck because he’s an insurance salesman. He’s a runner and gave Holy Roller a run for his money on some of the running aspects of today. It was good to see Holy Roller have someone push him!
Always humbled to lead!
Jolly Rancher out!
