BB Le Pew The Agony @ The County – 1.14.2021

PAX:

  • Jolly Rancher
  • Tammy Faye Baker
  • Double Down (R)
  • Holy Roller (R)
  • Yankovic (R)
  • Lucky Charms
  • Gisele
  • Pelican
  • Cochran
  • Hushpuppy
  • Storm Trooper
  • Cratchet
  • Tidwell
  • Viking
  • Le Pew (Q)

After the disclosure and the confirmation that there weren’t any FNGs, I asked Holy Roller if he had brought Yankovic back out into the gloom, as it was Yank’s first Q on Tuesday at The Boondocks. To my surprise, Yank was standing right next to him. Great job Yankovic – you officially become a PAX when I don’t recognize you when you’re right in front of me in the gloom.

Even though I so badly wanted to start with Nuclears, our boy Pelican asked that I didn’t put them in the weinke. Out of respect for our brother and the fact that he’s nursing a hurt knee I was glad to acquiesce.

  • COP
    • Michael Phelps OYO
    • 3 Burpees
    • 25 Toy Soldiers in Cadence
    • 3 Burpees
    • 10 Slow Grass Grabbers (palms to the ground encouraged)
    • 3 burpees
    • Mosey

During the COP I warned the PAX that the setlist wasn’t going to be very diverse: 100# Imagine Dragons. Some were unsettled, others were impartial, others were glad.

We moseyed 1/2 way around campus then circled up with COP 2:

  • COP 2
    • 5 burpees
    • 75 Flutter Kicks in cadence
    • 5 Burpees
    • Mosey to our coupons

The Thang was Dora:

  • The Thang
    • 100 Overhead Press
    • 200 Bent Over Rows
    • 300 Curls
    • 400 Squats
    • about a 200 yard run between sets

Today, talking to @hushpuppy18 during the mosey he said something that resonated with me: “I’m just doing what I love. My job is my hobby.” Not only are his words powerful, but the passion with which he spoke nearly stopped me in my tracks. He’s living the dream. He’s happy. He’s a leader. He’s a light in the darkness, and will be an extraordinary father.

In the COT Tidwell raised up a young man that has gone missing recently while kayaking and we also raised up OJ and his wife’s battle with cancer. We prayed for the young man’s safe return, and for healing. God’s plan is perfect, and when we seek the ways in which he can be glorified in perceptively bad events we will find miracles. Miracles occur every day in what we may think are benign and menial events. We live in an imperfect world where pain and loss dwell, but every challenge and obstacle is really an opportunity to grow stronger. Many may think this is cliche, but those who do are often the most miserable. We all only have one chance to be great each day. Today I was able to experience greatness with an amazing group of men, and to Him goes all the glory.
