8 PAX showed up on a cloudy and cool morning in the park.
We circled up at 0700 and I gave the disclaimer. The PAX were informed that we were going to take a short mosey to the fountain where we would remain for the duration. Once there, we further warmed up our legs since that is about all we would be working today. I demonstrated star jumps and lounge acts, since these were most likely new to this group. I also explained we would do 4 sets of 20 sec work/10 sec rest for each exercise and the timer would direct left or right where applicable.
The exercises were:
Lunge to the Right
Lunge to the Left
Lounge Act Left
Lounge Act Right
Lunge forward right
Lunge forward left
Jane Fonda Left
Jane Fonda Right
Lunge back right
Lunge back left
Apparently we disrupted the impromptu photo shoot that was taking place at the fountain. Thankfully they dispersed before monkey humpers or pickle pounders. We were also glad no one rounded the corner from the fountain while Jitterbug was doing his monkey humpers, an unsuspecting bystander may have mistaken it for peacocking.
Catfish and his fellow runners came by for a quick hello before they continued their trek.
We laughed, we worked and we got better in the gloom. Where else can you gather with men of all ages in a positive constructive way to do exercises with dumb names, pause to admire a sunrise and follow it up by supporting a brother for a 13 mile commemorative walk?
With the little gas left in our legs, we moseyed back to the flag and ended with COR, NOR, announcements and intentions.
As always, it was great to start Saturday with this group.
Until Next Time,
