Since I know Jolly Rancher will have something to say, let me clarify something quickly. I wrote the BB yesterday because it was a “Before Blast” and today is the PB or “Post Blast.” See, it had nothing to do with me not paying attention and getting ahead of myself.
Anyways, on to the matter at hand. As I mentioned before, it had been two months since I was in the Abyss and a month since my last Q and my last full participation in a workout. It felt fantastic to be back working alongside the PAX. In the gloom this morning we had, Flip Flop, Uncle Sam (R), Mr Hat, F-Stop, Shark Bait and YHC on Q.
We started with some typical warm-o-rama stretches and cardio to get our heart pumping.
Thang 1 was pretty simple. We took a straight through mosey around the lake. The only catch was at each bend in the road, the PAX would turn around and sprint to the six. This let each person run their pace while keeping the six picked up and motivated. We each ran anywhere from 1.75 to 2 miles and each person ran it all the way through. If watching Uncle Sam push through that run doesn’t inspire you to seize the day, then I can’t help you. Nice job men, way to push yourselves and encourage the others!
Once we got back to the basketball court we did 20 toddler squat jumps just to make sure the legs were feeling good. Then we closed with nuclear burpees, because regular nuclear SSH suck. Unfortunately we only made it down to 5 before time ran out. The mumblechatter was strong and the spirits were high. I sure miss these guys! Thanks for the opportunity to lead.
