It’s always a great drive down US 60 to head over to Bayside. There’s always zero traffic at 0-dark-thirty in the morning headed that way. It’s just the wildlife you have to be careful of – and I didn’t have any issues this morning.
At 0530am, Ruby was sauntering out of his truck but I called time and disclaimers were provided. All in, the following PAX joined me:
- Borland (R)
- Charolais (R)
- Ruby (R)
- Jolly Rancher (Q)
Started up with the normal Jolly COP, which included the usual suspects:
- Downward Dog + Runners Stretches
- Toy Soldiers
- Copperhead Squats
- Kendra Neumans
We then ran straight into the main events.
Thang 1 – Suicide 11s:
We lined up on the 10 yard line [there is no zero yard line – they must play football different in Shelby County] on the concrete football field. Goal was to do the first exercise, bear crawl to the 20 yard line and back to the 10 yard line, Bernie Sanders to the 30 yard line and back to the 10 yard line, then just mosey to the 40 yard line for exercise two. Then mosey back to the 10 yard line.
The two exercises in the 11s were overhead presses and big boy sit-ups.
Thang 2 – Even Circles:
Have no idea what to call this, but we then mosey’d towards the school and used the retaining walls in the landscaped area for the next thang. We did 2 step-ups and 2 dips, then a circle around the entrance. Then, 4 step-ups and 4 dips, then another circle. Rinse and repeat for 6x, 8x and 10x.
Then mosey back to the coupons.
Thang 3 – Dora:
Had a bit of extra time, so with six PAX we had perfect even numbers for a Dora. So we partnered up and hit:
- 100x merkins
- 100x curls
- 100x tricep extensions
Just a few more minutes for Mary where we did:
- Gas pumps led by YHC.
- American Hammers led by Borland.
- Ankle Biters led by Birdie.
- LBCs led by Charolais.
Time was then called.
We circled up for namearama, countarama, announcements and intentions. A few close to the PAX are either battling illnesses or recently passed so we lifted up those family members.
Squid also shared in the circle this morning [which is now also on Slack] that his mother-in-law has a severe illness which is calling him and his M to move back to Evansville in the next few months. While he will be sorely missed, I’m thankful for his employer and his influence that he can have on the men of F3 Evansville as they continue to EH more sad clowns for a brand new region. I also respect the move that he’s picking up his life to go support his M and his mother-in-law.
Mad respect, dude. We need more people like Squid and their selfless acts to support each other in this world.
Today and tomorrow, let’s be like Squid for someone that needs a little extra help.
Jolly Rancher out!
