Backblast – The Chopper @ Vets – Captain Crunchberry Q – 12.03.2021

This morning was great. I really don’t travel too often. I told the PAX at Vets that I generally only go to Vets when I need a good laugh. (Really it is generally to support a traveling Q, but those guys that call The Vet home never disappoint on the mummblechatter.)

After Bunghole finished identifying the cars and their associated driver, there were 10 PAX that joined me for what I think was my first Q at Vets.

  • Meatball
  • Worm
  • Leno
  • Lady Bird
  • Vincent
  • Alfalfa
  • Harry Caray
  • Cousin Eddie
  • Bunghole
  • Handbook
  • Captain Crunchberry (Q)

Watching ESPN this week every commercial break had something about Jimmy V week. So I decided to base a weinke around it.

We gathered up around the seal for COP, which consisted of Side Straddle Hops, Abe Vigodas, Mountain Climbers, and a Runner’s Stretch.

After COP we made the short mosey to new basketball courts. Well, they aren’t new, but evidently it is rarely used by any Q there.

When we arrived at the basketball court I read off this quote from Jimmy V: “How do you go from where you are to where you wanna be? And I think you have to have an enthusiasm for life. You have to have a dream, a goal. And you have to be willing to work for it.”

THANG 1: 11s

Lining up along one baseline, do 1 BBSU, then do a defensive slide to the other sideline. 10 Glut Bridges (or I have heard them called Mr. Saturday Night). Defensive slide back to the starting baseline, 2/9, 3/8, etc… Mosey back to the seal.

When we arrived at the seal, I read off this second quote from Jimmy V: “We should do three things every day of our life. Number one is laugh. You should laugh every day. Number two is to think, we should spend some time in thought. And, number three is you should have your emotions moved to tears.”

THANG 2: 3 Things.

Pretty simple, complete 10 dips, 10 derkins, and 10 incline merkins. Run one lap around the perimeter of circle. Rinse and repeat. We did that for about 15 minutes.

THANG 3: Speech

To wrap it up we were going to do some static holds, whole I attempted to play Jimmy V’s ESPY speech. The hold would rotate every minute. The static holds were plank, squat (Al Gore), and Superman.

After I turned off the music to start the speech, this is when Worm found there was music playing. My speaker is plenty loud when at The County, it doesn’t hold a candle to the mummblechatter at Vets. So after about 2 minutes of barely hearing Jimmy’s speech, I turned the music back on, and we continued to cycle through the holds.

With about 5 minutes left we ran two more laps around the monument, then circled up for some MARY.

MARY consisted of Gas Pumps, American Hammers, LBCs, Nolan Ryan’s and a Plank for time.

Announcements and Intentions.
