The beginning of Old Bay week! I was so giddy with excitement that I forgot it was finally here! Luckily StickUp texted me a friendly reminder.
PAX: (3) StickUp, Buzzsaw, Old Bay (Q)
Weather: Rainy, temp still holding at 55
Gear: F3 Orange Rucktoberfest under, Northface 1/4 zip over, shorts, DarnTough socks, old shoes that I thought would get soaked. They did.
5:31, time to get to work. Disclaimer, mosey a bit to COP. SSH, Copperhead Squats, Toy Soldiers, Merkins, Downward Dog.
Thang1: BLIMPS. Mosey around the egg stopping at each parking lot for 20 of each Burpees, Lunges, Imperial Walkers, Merkins, Plank Jacks, Squats. At the 7th lot (Who says Mutts can’t count?), we did a baby BLIMPS ladder. 5 Burpees, 10 Lunges, 15 Imperial Walkers, 20 Merkins, 25 Plank Jacks, 30 Squats, no rest. I seemed to find the puddles no matter where we went.
Thang2: Me: “Well we did BLIMPS for round 1, this time we’re gonna do DORKS.” Stickup: “Huh?” Me: “You guys don’t do DORKS here? Huh. Well let’s go” Same thing running around the egg, stopping for 10 of each exercise in the parking lots. D for Derkins, O for Oh man those are burpees, R for Ranger Merkins, K for Kraken Burpees, S for Squats. OB found more puddles.
Thing3: Rain picked up a smidge, so head back to the gazebo thingy. 10 dips then 20 flutters, 10 dips then 20 gas pumps, 10 dips then 20 LBC, 10 dips then 20 J Los. 6:14 so that was all the time I had.
Numbers were UUUUUge, and I was worried I would forget all those that were present.
COR, NOR, Announcements, Intentions.
Leading a big group is fun, but small groups like today offer a chance for chatter, shit-talkin, and catching up with the boys. I mostly enjoyed it, except for the fact that StickUp is beating my ass in fantasy football. We talked about keeping perspective and keeping your composure during this crazy Holiday season. We got it pretty good. I’m German and learned about a German food I have never heard of from Buzzsaw. We all shared stories of being robbed or houses broken into. I can’t believe I had never heard StickUp’s F3 naming story. He also met his wife at a Kid Rock concert and that’s pretty awesome.
Love leading, love the Poshies. Even though you only get wet once, I still don’t love the rain. Keep it real out there boys.
