It was an Abacus Q on 7.18.22. When PAX gathered together, a touch before 0530, it didn’t take PK long to realize that everyone in attendance began their F3 journeys in 2017. To describe these PAX some might even throw out the acronym “OGs.” PK certainly did and felt moved to, at that moment, announce Posh Mondays as OG day. His first matter of business before Abacus could give his disclaimer would be to put the strong EHC to Double Down to Q the next week, to which he less than enthusiastically acquiesced. As Abacus took us on a jaunt around the Egg Lawn we took this opportunity to reminisce, sharing stories of our first post, who brought us out and how we got our names, etc. It would be the usual, solid, simple yet effective Q from Abacus. The following week Double Down got back in the saddle and proved he hadn’t forgot how to ride as he laid down a face melter to the next group of OGs. YHC would take week 3.
On the first morning of a new week and month it was a smooth ride to the AO until on my way down S Beckley Station Rd, Mother Nature decided to open the skies for a torrential downpour. Normally this wouldn’t be an issue because we could use the sizable portico. But if you’ve been to Posh on Mondays you knew that was off the table since the Fit 4 Moms roll deep and take over whatever part of the park they want…Portico included. However, The Sky Q, as he has done so many times before, blessed us with some relief as it literally stopped raining as I step out of my car; and it didn’t rain for the rest of our time together. Thank you once more Sky Q! Jolly Rancher wouldn’t get wet from rain today but that still wouldn’t keep him from complaining about something(s)…
OG PAX in attendance: Jitterbug (R), Lady Bird (R), Beggin Strips (canine), PK, Stick Up, Jolly Rancher, BigBird (QIC)
Disclaimer was given and off we would go for a mosey around the ovular lot and would hold up at the other open lot for…
COP: SSH, Grass Grabbers, Runners Stretch complex, Mountain Climbers, Plank Jacks and finish off with Micheal Phelps while we “slowzeyed”to the opening of the lot.
From there we would do some down and backs of Super Mario’s, Karaoke, High Knees and Butt Kickers.
Recover and mosey around the circular lot cutting through at the halfway point to do some sun salutation Bernie Sanders bidding adieu to the Fit 4 Moms that had taken over another part of the park. We would head over to The Egg Lawn for…
The Thang: Run around the loop stopping at every light post for the work. Start out with 1 of each: Burpee, Merkin, Squat & Jump Lunge. At every light pole we came to we would increase our rep count by 1 each time. It was here that Jitterbug schooled me on the fact that there are 44 light poles around the Egg Lawn. True we don’t get up for easy but that would’ve been a bit much. As many times as I’ve been around the Egg Lawn you figure I’d have known that…or at least have known that there was more than like.. 12…we definitely had to modify that one. Lady Bird suggested we stop at every other. Good call out my avian brother! As we went around, every other still proved to be quite a lot so we all continued to modify together as we went along stopping twice for sets of dips and trying to headlock dog walkers and bench stretchers. All in all we would still manage to get in 90 reps of everything. WOOF boys!!
Headed back to the startex where we would have time for 1 BBSU before time was called. Lady Bird cussed me for getting his back wet and Jolly Rancher would’ve had something to say about it too but likely realized he had used up all his complaints already. Circled up for COR, NOR & COT. Made some announcements and said some intentions. A lot of CSAUP stuff going on, what with our Mt. Moran ruckers, Saturday Tough Mudders and other fun stuff up and coming. Asked the Sky Q to keep all of those safe that are stepping outside of their comfort zones to do something tough. Gave thanks for this group of men that came out to join me on a Monday and closed us out with The Lord’s prayer.
Until next time…
