Rooster BB – 12/11/2018

Weather was cold, but calm, so all in all it was a pretty good morning.

Disclaimer was given and we started off the mosey around the walking path to the coupon garden, where everybody grabbed a coupon and headed up to the parking lot to circle up. 

Start with from Kendra Newman’s then SSH, grass grabbers, Imperial walkers all 15 IC.  Finish with some additional arm stretches.

Thing 1.  In trying to get into the Christmas spirit I went back through a bunch of old backblasts to see if there was something that would fit the bill.  With luck I found an old backlash from Tron titled the 12 days of Christmas, and the concept looked good to me so I figured we’d give it a shot.

Everybody line up near the portico for the explanation.  Start with 1 of the first exercise, then bear crawl half way across the parking lot, run the rest of the way.  5 Bobby Hurleys and mosey back.  Then 2 of the next exercise, 1 of the first exercise.  After that lunge walk half way across the parking lot run the rest of the way.  5 Bobby Hurleys and mosey back.  Keep going in that pattern just like the 12 days of Christmas song, followed by bear crawls on the odd numbers and lunge walk on the even numbers, with 5 Bobby Hurleys at the other end of the lot each time.  Here is what was done:

1 – burpee (total of 12)

2 – diamond merkins (total of 22)

3 – V ups (total of 30)

4 – coupon merkins (total of 36)

5 – rows (total of 40)

6 – curls (total of 42)

7 – overhead press (total of 42)

8 – DaVincis (total of 40)

9 – Derkins (total of 36)

10 – Dips (total of 30)

11 – Big boys (total of 22)

12 – Double merkin burpees

If you finished early, wall sit until all PAX complete.

After all PAX completed this, return the coupons, partner up and head to the little playground.  Partner 1 stayed in the parking lot, down on their six holding their feet 6 inches above the ground while Partner 2 ran up to do 10 pull ups, then switch.  Completed this 2 times, and after that was complete everyone do 20 more merkins.

Finish with another lap around the walking path, and head to the flag.

Announcements given, including letting everyone know about the burpees for vets challenge on Christmas eve out at the Posh.  COT with prayers and intentions.  Also thought I would share that Father Wayne had a pretty good homily this week.  He stressed that we should try to wake up every morning and tell ourselves “It’s not about me.”  I thought this was especially important this time of year, but I also think that F3 reflects that message.  We have the 3nd F that we work on and we strive to better ourselves certainly, but even showing up when its cold to support others helps us remember that its not about “me”
