Tclaps to the 3 HIMs that joined me this morning in WET, windy and cold conditions for a beatdown at the 4-H Fairgrounds in New Albany: Gru (Co-Q), LEGO and Plumb Bob. And, special props to Plumb Bob for posting Friday morning, then going on a 10 mile solo ruck last night, then showing up this morning. Beast Mode.
We left the parking lot and moseyed around deep puddles and through standing water along the gravel road leading to the base of the hill. Once there, Gru put us through the motions with SSHs, Imperial Walkers, Abe Vigodas and Michael Phelps. We then headed up the hill towards Peden Park. The hill up is about half a mile in total and has three cutbacks, each with a sizeable concrete landing. At each landing, we did an exercise: 20 Booyah Merkins at the first, 10 Booyah Burpees at the second, Cooperhead Squats on the last.
Once at the top of the hill, we each grabbed a fancy new coupon (courtesy of LEGO) and headed over to the parking lot for some partner Dora: 50 Burpees, 100 Coupon Curls, 150 Coupon Merkins, 200 Overhead Coupon Presses, and 250 Coupon Flutter Kicks for each pair of partners. Partner one would work on reps while partner two would sprint to the end of the parking lot and do 10 SSHs.
We finshed in enough time to get the coupons put away, get back down the hill and under the Fairgrounds shelter for some Mary. Gru led us through some Freddie Mercury’s, Boats and Canoes and ABCs. We stayed under shelter for name-o-rama, announcements, intententions and thanks. We all left better and wetter than when we arrived.
