Pax (10) Face, Pork Chop, Digiorno, Fridge, Fergie, Huggies, Fructose, Uncle Rico, Nino, Glen Ross (Q)
As I mentioned in my pre-blast, my last Q out at Pleasantville was in November. So I was long overdue and happy to be back out. Pulled up at 5:17 and Face was already there— actually the entire PAX that day got there early (something that you never see at the Mutt). Set up some pre-workout tunes to get the PAX ready w/ my new go to the Weather Girls, Its Raining Men. Not sure what it is about this song but it always gets the Pax hyped up.
Disclaimer at 5:30 and off for short mosey.
Warm up: Short mosey around the amphitheater to the front for 20 SSH, 20 Imperial Walkers, 20 mountain climbers, 10 Merkins, 5 BOYOS
Thang1: 2’s and 4’s, then 3’s and 5’s
In my pre-blast I mentioned that we would be putting in some work at the Beast and this is where we started. For those of you that don’t know, the Beast is the Norton Commons Amphitheater. The Beast has 8 rows—so to keep it simple we did 2 burpees going up, then 4 merkins on the way down. Staying with 2/4’s we did another set, this time using V-ups going up (2) and big boys going down (4).
Round 2 was 3’s & 5’s. 3 burpees up, 5 merkins down. Same for V-ups and big boys. Total count was 40 burpees, 40 V-ups, 72 merkins and 72 big boys
Thang2: Mosey over to walking park and settle down at the bottom of the hill for quick round of BLIMPS. This hill doesn’t get much work but almost had some merlot spilled there last year with my man Airplane
5 burppes at the bottom, run up and do another 5 up top. Same for each exercise as we increased by 5 for each set.
Another mosey around the park and we settled in the grass for some mary. This seems to be my go-to set for Mary…..there might have been something else
20 LBCs/ 20 American Hammers/ 20 Gas Pumps/ 20 Freddie Mercs
Ended at 6:15 and circled up for COT
Always a blast leading and I had a great time with the PAX today. Still not sure why we can’t get more locals out at Norton Commons on Fridays but happy to see the spot still there and growing too.
