I knew it was going to be a cold one so I designed a weinke to keep the PAX moving. When I set off from Pewee Valley, it was 32 degrees and as I approached the Colonel William Oldham (CWO) statute, it was 30 degrees. When I arrived early to setup, Ruby was already there. He was in shorts and said it wasn’t cold. The only other in shorts was Backflop.
Here are the 10 PAX who participated: Yankovich (R), Swag, Ruby (R), Single Source, Backflop, Viking, Skull, Holy Roller (R), Boss Hogg (R) and Meter Maid (Q).
I started off with a quick COP of 15 4-count mountain climbers, strict downward dog and Michael Phelps OYO. Then, I explained our first exercise -CWOs. It would be two laps around the square with stopping at each corner with 5 of each – C for Carolina Dry Docks, W for Weezy Jefferson and O for one legged burpees.
Then we headed to the main thang which was running heart break hill. To add to the challenge we also brought over three sandbags (20,40 and 60 pounds). These were in constant motion. Not even a sandbag could slowdown Backflop. After each round, we did another CWO- 5 Copperhead squats, 10 Walkers (4 count), and 15 Os. Holy Roller cranked out lots of one legged burpees. At one point Viking went over and did a few sets of exercises with him.
With a few minutes left we circled up for Mary. We did 20 4-count flutter kicks IC, 20 right leg only flutter kicks IC and concluded with elevators.
We did COR and NOR. We did announcements that included the the upcoming monthly ruck on Friday night- Vikings Voyage. It will start at 7:15pm at the O (Seneca Park basketball court). It will be miles with some limited PT. We prayed for Holy Roller whose mom passed away. The celebration of her life is later today.
Always humbled to lead,
