6/6 Backblast: Blackops at Rough River Day 2

CONDITIONS: 68 degrees, sun rising over the misty water = PERFECT!

PAX: My Pleasure (2.0), Scratch-N-Dent, Ashley (Q)

After a full day of boating, jet skiing, tubing, and fishing – the PAX was whittled down to only three this AM rising from the gloom. (At least one opted out due to sunburn) Each HIM resolved to get better so we shook off the pain to get to the gain.

At 0600 I issued the standard disclaimer and we moseyed to the back patio of the lake house.

Inspired by Star Child’s latest Q, I used that as the blueprint for this sweat-a-thon.

CIRCLE OF PAIN:
– 50 Side Straddle Hops
– 5 BOYOs
– 20 Mountain Climbers
– 5 BOYOs
– 30 Squats
– 5 BOYOs
– 20 Bobby Hurley’s
– 5 BOYOs
– 100 Air Presses (Raise the Roof)
– 5 BOYOs

We moseyed over the dock (about 1/4 mile)

DORA (Modified):
100 squats
150 Merkins
200 LBCs

As a team of 3 we took turns running the boat ramp (about 40 yards long at a 13 degree incline… though it felt so much steeper) while the remaining two PAX worked in tandem to chip away at the DORA.

In total, each HIM ran the boat ramp approximately 10 times.

We then moseyed to the end of the road (about 1/4 mile).

We circled back toward home and ran interval sprints for 1/2 mile. The last 75 yards we Bernie Sanders.

MARY (back patio of lake house):
20 Pickle Pushers
20 Freddie Mercury’s
20 6-Inches
20 Windshield Wipers
60 Second Plank

COUNT-A-RAMA and NAME-A-RAMA.

Read from 1 Timothy 4:7-10 “…Train yourself for godliness; for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come. The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance. For to this end we toil and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people…”

Prayed for the other PAXs and our family. Resolved to get better both in body and godliness.

As the sweat rolled off the body, we knew we could tackle a day of fun on the lake serving our family.

…We got better this morning. See you all back in the ‘Ville this week!
