Backblast 3.16.19 @ The Nest

Last time I went to Feast BBQ in early March, Airplane was working on filling the County Q listing for March. I agreed to do March 16.

As it grew closer, I was fearful of a low turnout given the competition with the competing mud event and Buschhhhh’s offer of free beer at the Mutt. However, the HIMs delivered with a strong turnout.

I started with the disclaimer and we started with a mosey until we reached the back of the school. We circled up for COP.

THANG 1

Since I had promised a few new exercises, we got into a line and did Apple Turnovers. Bear Crawl for 3 parking spaces, Crab Walk for 3 parking spaces, Bear Crawl for 3 parking spaces and Crab Walk for 3 spaces. We rinsed and repeated once.

THANG 2

For the other new exercise, we did Obama. It involves Bear Crawl but for every 4 hand movements, you do 4 Merkins…Bear Crawl 4 hand movements, 4 Merkins…until you reach the end. It is called Obama because he was the 44th President. I could see this exercise being modified for other Presidents as well.

THANG 3

We Moseyed to get the coupons and did a Colt 45. We placed the coupons for the next THANG.

THANG 4

I set up 8 cones and you would mosey between the cones and do the exercise snarled next to each cone.

Cone 1: 10 Burpees, Cone 2: 20 Merkins, Cone 3: 30 Carolina Dry Docks (We later modified later rounds to LBCs. Many of us were sore from the Carolina Dry Docks At Jolly Rancher’s yesterday Q.), Cone 4: 40 Big Boys, Cone 5: 50 Mountain Climbers – Single Count, Cone 6: 60 Overhead Air Presses, Cone 7: 70 Benchpress with Coupon and Cone 8: 80 Squats. We rinsed and repeated. A few came close to making it through two times.

THANG 5

Next we did Jacob’s ladder. You run up the hill do 2 burpees and run back down. You add two burpees each time at the top of the hill until we reached 10 burpees.

We only had a few minute late remaining for Mary. We did Flutter Kicks 20 IC and 30 LBCs on your own.

Then we did NOR and COR. Alexa will be leading the next weight right challenge through Memorial Day (check on Slack for more info and convergence will be on 4/20 at the O (Seneca Park tennis courts). I asked for intentions. I shared a quote from Proverbs 3:5 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding.” We ended with an Our Father.

I am always humbled to lead.
