At my last Q at the Mutt, I learned that they they don’t like to count. I planned a workout that would be more a heavy with a push requiring no counting. I got up early to get all setup because they always have strong attendance numbers at the Rooster.
I placed each of the weighted items into separate parking spaces of the side parking lot. After I had placed all of the potted plants, sandbags and rucks out, a few of the pax nearly ran them over rolling into before the workout.
We had 18 who showed up. They included: Viking, Wham, Left Eye, Buschhhh, Tiger, Old Bay, Jitterbug (R), Sump Pump (R), Windshield, Wham-O (R), Peeping Tom, Glen Ross, Frosty, Deuce, Backdraft, Fall Guy (R), Fergie, and Meter Maid (Q).
It was a cold 24 degrees so after a disclaimer, we moseyed around the school. Then, we circled up for a quick COP of mountain climbers IC, grass grabbers IC, Kendra Newmans (arm circles), and Michael Phelps OYO.
I quickly ran everyone through the exercises of the 600 pounds of weight. The exercises included: stein hold, boxing with potted plants, curls, squats with overhead press, skull crushers, potted plant swings, squats, uneven farmer carries, sandbag toss, sandbag carry, ruck merkins, ruck flutter kicks, and jump ropes. The push would be a Rucker 3.0 with 45 pounds going there and back between a sign and the school. We made it through over a complete rotation before time was called. We dropped the weight at my vehicle before circling up.
I did play some music during the workout as well. Did anyone know the Mutt has an official song? If not, it should be “Mutt by Blink-182”. The Rooster should be “Rooster by Alice In Chains”.
We did a quick COR and NOR. For announcements, the awards banquet is 1/28. Jitterbug is in need of volunteeers for Dare to Care this Saturday (1/8). For intentions, we prayed for Backdraft’s mom and Tron and his family. We raised up those and the unsaid intentions. We gave thanksgiving for another day. I challenged others to be original and do something hard. We ended with an Our Father.
