I always enjoy working out and rucking at the Posh. Yogi and his team do a fantastic job of maintaining the grounds. As my pre-blast stated, I scheduled a pre-Ruck workout. Gaba Gaba and I cast off at 5:45am and got about 3.8 miles going to toward North Posh and back.
Before the workout, it was a cold 28 degrees and there was frost on the ground. When I got back from the ruck, I saw Lady Bird and his dog, Emma aka Beggin Strips. Jitterbug arrived with Iceman. For those that don’t know and contrary to his recent attendance, Iceman is a co-site Q for the Fog with Jitterbug. It was nice to see him back out in the gloom.
When it hit 7am, Iceman was still jabbering so I attempted to provide my disclaimer (key word was trying). As I stated on the pre-blast, it would be a tour of the Posh. We moseyed over to the Gheens Lodge for COP. Started with Grass Grabbers IC, did some steps up (I know not your traditional COP), wall sits, and Michael Phelps OYO. Then, we moseyed over to under the I-64 underpass. Along the way Emma enjoyed smelling every other tree.
Each pax grabbed a rock that would serve as a coupon. This is something that Backflop had done during one of his prior Qs. We did it for only a “short” time. It included curls, overhead press and squats. I also threw in a LePew favorite, nuclears starting at 5. Good thing Pelican wasn’t here.
Next, we headed over to the Egg Lawn loop and at every 0.1 marker did 10 monkey humpers. Luckily for them, there wasn’t many people around us.
Then, we headed across the bridge. Along the way, we stopped for 20 merkins. We came up the fountain and did some dips around the fountain.
We next moseyed over toward our next destination. Iceman told us all about Meth hill. Ask him about it next time you see him.
At the bridge with the pond and lily pads, we did 7s with burpees and merkins. After it ended, I took a side trail and we passed three ducks including some mallards. At the end, I realized it was a dead end so we circled back. Along the way to our next stop, we stopped and did 20 merkins.
Then, we moseyed over to (ear muffs Jolly and Cratchit) the PWC Pavillon. There we did some additional step ups.
I brought us back to the Gheens Lodge to do some more wall sits. They asked me questions and we kept wall sitting. At some point Iceman started grunting and said are we doing this for time? I think I finally found something I can beat Iceman at. It’s kinda like Dauber’s ability to get up fast, who knew?
We had already done over 3 miles, so we went back to toward the flag to finish up with a some Mary. We did Flutter Kicks IC, Low Dollys IC, Boxer Sits Ups OYO, Elevators, Gas Pumps IC and Heel Touches IC. Time was called.
While we only had 4 PAX (Jitterbug (R), Iceman (R), Lady Bird (R) and Meter Maid (Q)), it allowed ample opportunity for some good mumblechatter. Best of luck to Ice’s son who is playing soccer for UK as a midfielder tonight at 5pm. Just don’t ask Ice who they are playing because he doesn’t know.
We did a quick COR and NOR. For announcements, Dare to Care is next Saturday. Please get with Jitterbug if you can help. The monthly ruck is 3/19 and will benefit others having water challenges.
For intentions, we prayed for our country, those impacted by COVID and our families. At the end, Bob Ross and Dauber joined our COT. I closed out with an our Father.
Always humbled to lead,
